Two Passengers Safe And Ninety Seven Passengers Dead Most bodies Unidentified In Karachi Plane Crash




As a result of the accident that took place on the flight of the national airline PIA yesterday, 97 out of 99 passengers were killed while only 2 passengers miraculously survived.

A national airline flight from Lahore to Karachi crashed into a population near PK-8303 airport with 91 passengers and eight crew members on board.

According to the health department, 66 bodies were shifted to Jinnah Hospital, including 20 women, 43 men and three children.

According to the health department, all the bodies were autopsied at Jinnah Hospital and 16 bodies were identified while 50 bodies could not be identified.

The health department said 31 bodies had been shifted to the Civil Hospital, including six women and 25 men.

The health department said that only 3 bodies were identified in the civil hospital while 28 bodies could not be identified.

Bodies moved to cold storage
Rescue officials said the bodies have now been shifted from Civil and Jinnah Hospitals to Edhi Cold Storage Sohrab Goth and FTC Hidden Cold Storage.

According to rescue officials, all the bodies were transferred after DNA samples were taken and the process of identifying the bodies is underway.

ISPR cleared twenty five houses. The Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR) also confirmed the removal of 97 bodies from the crash site, saying only two passengers were safe.

According to ISPR, 25 houses in the affected area have been cleared and residents of the affected houses are living in different places.

Most of the bodies are unidentified A NADRA spokesperson said that the bodies of most of the victims were burnt and unidentified.

The spokesman said that fingerprints were taken on the spot of 3 dead persons out of which 2 bodies have been identified by NADRA.

Focal person deployed to identify bodies
On the other hand, Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Nabi Memon said that three focal persons have been deployed in the team to identify the bodies but the process of identification of the deceased would be completed through DNA.

Additional IG Karachi said that SSP Investigation Korangi Junaid Ahmed would lead the team, DSP Rustam would be posted at Civil Hospital while DSP Aftab Alam would supervise the desk at Jinnah Hospital.

No resident of the colony was killed in the accident
According to Deputy Commissioner Korangi, the plane damaged 19 houses from garages in Block A and R of Model Colony Jinnah Garden, out of which 2 houses were completely burnt down.

DC Korangi said that no resident of the colony was killed in the plane crash and only three women were injured who were shifted to the hospital.

He said that 16 residents of the affected houses have been accommodated in a hotel located on Shara Faisal and they have been directed to provide all kinds of facilities.

Rescue operation completed a search operation has been completed to find the dead and injured in the plane crash in Model Colony, after which the work of removing the wreckage of the plane will be started.

Approving the formation of a committee to investigate, the Prime Minister said that the inquiry committee should immediately start the investigation process.

Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the concerned authorities to start the investigation of the plane crash without delay without waiting for the formal approval of the federal government.

In this regard, the Prime Minister's Office has also sent written instructions to the Secretary Aviation and related agencies.
